摘要
After the pioneering era at the Tevatron, top physics is expected to play a major role also at the LHC: due to the enhanced product ion-cross section, millions of top quarks per year will be available for precision measurements aimed at unveiling the properties of the sixth quark. On the other hand, established top quark characteristics - such as, for instance, its mass - can be used as reference points for calibration and commissioning purposes even in the early stages of data-taking.
