摘要
A base station antenna capable of multidirectional pattern reconfiguration is presented. The antenna structure consists of a driven base station antenna and two parasitic dipoles that act either as reflector(s) or director(s) depending on the switching arrangement. Beam reconfiguration is achieved by using two pin diode switches which affect the current distribution of the parasitic dipole. The proposed antenna achieves twelve distinguished main beam angular positions. The measured common bandwidth of the nine modes is 3.4-3.8 GHz which covers 5G, and the isolations between two ports in all the modes are higher than 15 dB. The proposed antenna could be a suitable candidate for 5G microbase stations.
