摘要
Local area networks (LANs) are enhanced by a cascade connection of switching hubs. In a LAN with a cascade connection, the congestion in communication is subject to occur at the port of connected points. Thus, Network coding has attracted attention as a technology that improves bandwidth efficiency. In this study, we clarify a potential problem with a cascade connection of switching hubs, and propose a congestion control method that simultaneously enables an improvement of the throughput and a reduction in congestion using network coding. We implement the proposed method on an application layer to prove its effectiveness. Finally, we analyze actual traffic data in a campus network and prove that the proposed method could function in this environment.
