Electrochemical behavior of molybdenum in (NaCl-KCl-NaF-MoO3) molten salt

摘要
In this paper, the electrochemical reaction mechanism and electro crystallization process of molybdenum in the NaCl-KCl-NaF-MoO3 molten salt were investigated at 973 K (700 degrees C) by means of cyclic voltammetry, chronopotentiometry and chronoamperometry techniques. The experiment results demonstrate that the the electrochemical reaction process of Mo in the NaCl-KCl-NaF-MoO3 molten salt system is a quasireversible process mix-controlled by ion diffusion rate and electron transport rate. The molybdenum ion in this system is reduced to molybdenum in two steps. The electro crystallization process of molybdenum is found to be an instantaneous hemispheroid three-dimensional nucleation process and the molybdenum ion diffusion coefficient of 3.535x10(-5)cm(2)center dot s(-1) is obtained with experimental conditions.
