摘要
An Organic nonlinear optical crystal, Glycine Sodium Acetate (GSA), has been grown by slow evaporation solution growth method at room temperature using water as a solvent for the first time. Crystal purity was increased by the method of recrystallization. The grown crystals of GSA were subjected to characterization studies like powder XRD, FTIR, UV-Vis, Raman analysis, NLO and thermal studies. The structure, lattice parameters and cell volume of GSA crystals were obtained by powder X-Ray diffraction studies. The presence of various functional groups of GSA and their modes of vibration were identified from Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) and Raman IR spectral analysis. The optical transmission range of the GSA crystals was determined by UV-Visible Spectroscopy. The crystals of GSA were found to have wide range of transparency in the visible region. The nonlinear optical property of the grown crystals of GSA was measured through second harmonic generation using Kurtz-Perry powder test. Thermal analysis TGA and DTA were carried out to study about thermal stability of the grown crystal.
