摘要
The optimization of the geometry of an electrical machine is a complex task with many degrees of freedom. The biggest challenge is the optimization of the stator including the number of slots and winding design. Therefore, the magnetic saturation of the stator is fixed, and different winding configurations are chosen based on predefined criteria. The rotor of the five-phase motor is then optimized for selected electrical loading. The five-phase machine is expected to be operated under higher harmonic current injection; finding the ideal current distribution between both first and third harmonic components is part of the optimization process.
