QMS - A QUALITY MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE FOR UNIVERSITIES

The paper presents an information system developed at "Lucian Blaga" University of Sibiu for the use of quality assurance management. According to Romanian legislation the quality assurance management fall under the competence of each accredited higher education institution in conformity with academic autonomy. Institutions should have a policy and associated procedures for the assurance of the quality and standards of their programmes and awards. To achieve this, institutions should develop and implement a strategy for the continuous enhancement of quality. The strategy, policy and procedures should have a formal status and be publicly available. This information system helps the university to manage the quality assurance system and to keep all the documents under control. The software application can be used with minor changes by any Romanian university not only by "Lucian Blaga" University of Sibiu.
