Extraction distribution of sodium picrate in the water-nitrobenzene system in the presence of p-tert-butylcalix[4]arene-tetrakis(N,N-diethylacetamide)

摘要
From extraction experiments With Na-22 as a tracer, the extraction constant corresponding to the equilibrium Na+(aq) + A-(aq) + L(nb) double left right arrow NaL+(nb) + A(-)(nb) taking place in the two-phase water-nitrobenzene system [A(-) = picrate, L = p-tert-butylcalix[4]arene-tetrakis(N,N-diethylacetamide); aq aqueous phase, nb = nitrobenzene phase] was evaluated as log K-ex(NaL+, A(-)) 4.6 +/- 0.1. Further, the stability constant of the p-tert-butylcalix[4]arene-tetrakis(N,N-diethylacetamide)-sodium complex in nitrobenzene saturated with water was calculated for a temperature of 25 degrees C: log beta(nb)(NaL+) = 9.8 +/- 0.1.
