Effect of sintering temperature on physical properties of sintered green glass ceramic composite (GCC)

摘要
The influence of various sintering temperatures on the physical properties of sintered green glass composite was investigated. Samples prepared involved direct sintering process. This study is focused on physical properties of the sintered green GCC according to ASTM C373. Samples prepared for physical testing were square shape with dimension of 18 x 18 x 4 mm. The samples were pressed under 2.5 tons pressure and sintered at 750, 800, 850 and 900 degrees C. The results showed that higher sintering temperature reduced apparent porosity and water absorption, which leads to increase bulk density. This study may contribute to roof and/or tiles application.
