Management of giant congenital melanocytic naevi

摘要：
Patients with giant congenital melanocytic naevi (GCMN) have an increased risk for developing melanoma including both cutaneous and extracutaneous melanoma. Till now there is no scientific evidence that therapeutic interventions alter the overall malignancy risk in an important way. This article discusses the rationale for treatment, our long-term experience in the management of these patients and shows evidence that curettage might be of benefit in the prevention of cutaneous melanoma.
