摘要
We propose a novel method for simultaneous speckle reduction and data compression based on wavelets. The main feature of the method is that of preserving the geometrical shapes of the figures present in the noisy images. A fast algorithm, the dynamic perceptron, is applied to detect the regular shapes present in the noisy image. Another fast algorithm is then used to find the best wavelet basis in the rate-distortion sense. Subsequently a soft thresholding is applied in the wavelet domain to significantly suppress the speckles of the synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images, while maintaining bright reflections for subsequent detection.
