摘要
Up to the present, there are not specific interventions that deal with the diabetic control of parents with children under eight. This can not be justified if one considers the manyfold difficulties that the medical treatment of diabetes present with the youngest children. In order to overcome this lack of research, we describe a training program for parents with diabetic children end at decreasing the adherence barriers to medical regimen. Twenty eight subjects, parents with children under eight, were distributed in two groups (experimental vs. traditional treatment) and were compared as regards knowledge on behavior modification, number of barriers and blood glucose level. The evolution of illness-related behavior problems was likewise evaluated. The results show significant changes in the expected direction..
