摘要
The prevalence of prediabetes is rapidly increasing with over 470 million people projected with prediabetes by 2030. Preventing the progression of prediabetes to Diabetes Mellitus (DM) type 2 is an effective way to combat the DM epidemic and lessen healthcare costs. Addressing this issues it requires an ideal animal model for prediabetes, that will make us know about the pathogenicity of prediabetes clearly and will know the preventive way for prediabetes. Animal model for prediabetes is scarce, especially in a natural way. An inexpensive animal model to study the effect of high glucose and high-fat diet is of great interest. The aim of this research was to study the effect on the rats after administration a combination of high-fat diet and liquid glucose for 24 weeks by indicator blood glucose level, insulin level and body weight. We used white male 12 weeks old Sprague Dawley rats with titration of glucose dose of 4 g/kg bodyweight, 8 g/kg bodyweight and 16 g/kg bodyweight each into groups 1 till group 3. Group 4 was a negative control. Group 1-3 were induced by high-fat diet addition cholesterol 10% also. Animals were observed for 24 weeks to measured blood glucose levels and body weight every week. At the end of the research, we measured the level of insulin. The results showed that there were differences in blood glucose values in weeks 4 and 16 with p-values were 0.000 and 0.002 respectively. The treatment groups also got obesity and high insulin levels
