EMISSIONS AND PERFORMANCE INVESTIGATION ON THE EFFECT OF DUAL FUEL INJECTION IN BIODIESEL DRIVEN DIESEL ENGINE

摘要
In this study, the propane was induced with air at different liters per minute (lpm) to facilitate the ignition pattern of a diesel engine run by waste seed Biodiesel (WSBD) The study investigated the parameters namely BSFC and BTE, HC, CO, NOx, and Smoke and compared with diesel. Results reaveled that the propane addition at 6 lpm reduced HC by 0.04 g/kW-hr, CO by 0.5 g/kW-hr, and smoke emission by 0.4 BSU at all BP from neat WSBD with a 0.9 g/kW-hr higher NO. This work also revealed that the propane addition improved performance patterns such as lowered 0.06 kg/kW-h BSFC and the 0.7% higher BTE of WSBD.
