摘要
This pilot study evaluated the impact of STARBRIGHT World (SBW), a computer-based psychoeducational intervention, on youth with sickle cell disease. Thirty-seven African American caregiver-child dyads completed verbally administered pre- and postintervention questionnaires; half of the families were randomly assigned to use SBW at home for 6 weeks. Mixed analyses of variance assessed changes in depression, quality of life, parent-child relationship quality, and health-promoting activities and disease knowledge. At postassessment, caregivers in the intervention group reported significantly greater improvements in the parent-child relationship than wait-list caregivers, and there was a trend toward greater decreases in child depression in the intervention group.
