Optical methods for diagnostics of flows are discussed within the scope of a retrospective revive of studies carried out at the Institute of Thermal Physics, Institute of Automation and Electrometry, and the Technological Design Institute of Scientific Instrument Engineering of the Siberian Branch of Russian Academy of Sciences.
