Preparation and antimicrobial activity of 3-(p(2',5'-dibromobenzenesulphonamido)-phenyl)-5-aryl-1H/acetyl/phenyl-2-pyrazolines

The substituted 2-propen-1-ones 2a-h obtained from p-(2, 5-dibromobenzenesulpohonamido)-acetophenone 1 have been treated with hydrazine hydrate in ethanol and gl. acetic acid giving the expected 3-(p-(2', 5'-dibromobenzenesulphonamido)-phenyl)-5- aryl-1H/acetyl pyrazolin 3a-h and 4a-h. The same compound 2a-h on reaction with phenyl hydrazine gives 3-(p-(2', 5'-dibromo-benzenesulphonamido)phenyl)-5-aryl-1-phenyl-pyrazolines 5a-h. The structures have been supported by elemental analyses and IR, PMR and mass spectral data. The products have been screened for their antimicrobial activity.
