Emission properties of Yb3+ in fluorophosphate glass

摘要
In fluorophosphate glass samples containing Al, Mg, Ca, Sr, Y fluorides and Ba(PO3)(2) and Al(PO3)(3) were prepared from reagent grade starting materials, melted at 1000 degrees C in air and cooled at 4 degrees C/s. The stimulated emission cross-section of Yb3+ was observed to depend on phosphate contents and modifier ions. OH- ions, which were incorporated into glass with phosphate, affect the fluorescence lifetime of Yb3+. No concentration quenching can be observed for doping concentration of Yb3+ less than or equal to 1.02 x 10(21) ions/cm(3). The influence of pumping wavelengths on the lifetime of Yb3+ was also investigated.
