摘要：

An important aspect of the design and preclosure risk assessment of a geologic repository for nuclear waste is the identification and evaluation of structures, systems, and components (SSC) that are important to safety. This paper describes a methodology for accomplishing this task using importance measures and presents an example related to the risk assessment of a potential repository, using point estimates of the frequencies, probabilities, and consequences.
