Cretaceous flora of Tyul'kili (Northeastern Priaral'e)

The Late Albian (Vraconian) flora of Kazakhstan from the locality Kankazgankuduk (Northeastern Priaral'e) is studied for the first time. It includes a fern (one species), conifers (6 species), and angiosperms (23 species) represented exclusively by plants with small and narrow leaves. The flora described shows great similarity with that of Nazareth (Portugal) of Late Albian (Vraconian) age. It is the first report of this type of flora in Asia. The results of a paleobotanic study of Kankazgankuduk and other localities of Tyul'kili considerably extend our knowledge of the evolution of the Cretaceous flora of Kazakhstan.
