摘要
A numerical simulation method is presented to analyze the feasibility and limitation of optical, data storage in a fiber loop optical buffer with semiconductor laser amplifiers (SLAs). The effects of cross talk, amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) noise of SLA, and the data dependent gain saturation in the SLR are taken into account. The buffered signal quality is evaluated in terms of & factor. The influences of data rate, contrast ratio and the input power level are discussed.
