摘要：
Chela macrolepis, new species, is described from Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. It is distinguished from all Indian and Sri Lankan species of Chela and Laubuka by the combination of the following characters: 35-40 + 1-3 lateral-line scales; 16 precaudal vertebrae; 23-24 predorsal scales; and 5,4,1 teeth on the fifth ceratobranchial. Chela macrolepis possesses characters that show affinity to both Chela and Laubuka.
