On an approach to modeling of interface failure in composites

摘要
The mechanical behavior of a composite interface is modeled by a transition layer whose deformation is described by nonlinear state equations containing three material parameters. A rigorous solution is presented for the problem of dilation of a material with a low volume concentration of the dispersed phase. Two possible interface failure mechanisms are analyzed.
