摘要:
In 1972, the French mathematician Rene Thom enunciated his "catastrophes theory" whereby the characterization of a complex dynamical system is effected by identification and study of its singularities or critical points. These critical points match the stages of the system in which phenomena happen or may happen. Some years later, Erik Zeeman Chirstopher extended this theory from mathematics to other sciences. Taking into account the complexity of architectural thought, affected by many variables like history, theory or architectural critic, we will conclude the necessity of applying a new and imaginative method for its study. We propose applying the "catastrophic method" of Thom and Zeeman as a useful procedure to do this. And we will see how its reductionism and effectiveness will yield surprising and unexpected results. We'll explore the poetics of the catastrophe and we'll use it as a constructive critic method. Destroy to build. We'll lay the foundation to declare a theory or a general method concerning Catastrophic Critic.
