Intergenerational mobility trends in the Ukrainian society

Intergenerational mobility trends in the Ukrainian society (by Svetlana Oksamitnaya) deals with a issue generally regarded as a major source of stability for any modern industrial society. Logically, the author aims at resuming analysis of this issue in the Ukrainian context. In terms of the theoretical basis, J.H. Goldthorpe's class scheme is used to structure Ukraine's population into 8 classes. Intergenerational mobility is looked into as well, the respective empirical sample being broken down into age cohorts to compare their rates of class and educational mobility. Some analytical suggestions are made concerning the rates and patterns of social mobility, degree of closure of openness in-the society.
