摘要
The preconception and prenatal periods offer ample opportunities to maximize prevention and reduce risk. This chapter reviews the current controversies that exist regarding the effectiveness of prenatal care as preventive medicine. Individual components of prenatal care are reviewed critically using an evidence-based approach.
