摘要
The European Metrology Research Project (EMRP) "Metrology for Solid State Lighting" aims to establish a European metrology infrastructure capable of measuring Solid-State Lighting (SSL) effectively. This would facilitate the adoption of energy efficient lighting to replace the incandescent sources that are being banned by the EU and help the EU to reach it's energy efficiency and climate protection targets. Present lighting technology uses 19 % of worldwide electrical energy consumption. SSL promises a 75 % improvement of the overall energy. In light of this the EC's Energy Using Products Directive (2005/32/EC) [1] has called current inefficient lighting to be phased out by 2012, saving annually, approximately 80 TWh, and 32 million tons CO2 emission; or around 20 standard power stations [2].
