Photoexcitations in MX chains: Dynamics of solitons and polarons in [Pt(en)(2)][Pt(en)(2)I-2](ClO4)(4)

摘要
Dynamics of photo-induced gap states such as charged-solitons and polarons have been studied in the [Pt(en)(2)][Pt(en)(2)I-2](ClO4)(4) single crystal using the photo-induced ir absorption (PA) measurements. Annihilation processes of the gap states are well explained by the bimolecular recombination model. The PA intensities and the decay characteristics of both charged-solitons and polarons are strongly temperature-dependent. The temperature dependences of the rate constant of recombination for both carriers clearly show a crossover of the transport mechanism from hopping to tunneling with decrease of temperature.
