摘要：
In this work we designed an information retrieval system "PIRS" - Precision Information Retrieval System - based on the modified vector space model introducing a new query weighting formula and similarity function. These modifications of the classical vector space model aimed to improve the average precision level of the system. Two well known IR parameters, precision and recall were used to compute the performance of system.
