A constructive proof of the equation DH boolean AND ECom = (J boolean AND ECom) boolean OR H is presented where H denotes any arborescent pseudovariety of groups. In addition, a new class of pseudovarieties of groups is found for which that equation holds. (C) 2002 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
