摘要
The objective of this study was to determine the effect of handle shape and wrist posture on maximum grip strength. Fifteen Asian students from the University population volunteered to participate in the study. Three handle shapes and five wrist postures were tested in random order. Results indicated that both wrist posture and handle shape have a significant effect on grip strength. Decrements of up to 34% were observed in grip strength as the wrist deviated from the neutral posture. Decrements of up to 14% in grip strength due to the shape of the handle were observed. Implications of these results are discussed in the body of the paper.
