Knowledge Management System as Transfer Media in Balinese Handicraft SMEs

The management of knowledge in an effective organization is done by collecting and disseminating all the knowledge of individuals within the organization so that knowledge can become a knowledge of organization. The spread of knowledge conducted by knowledge transfer, which Information technology (IT) can take a part through digital channels, such as email, chat, and information system. A type of organization that require the transfer of knowledge and technologies to increase its competitiveness, is the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). As in Bali particularly, many developing SMEs engaged in handicrafts, where IT can be used as a medium for sharing of knowledge among employee of the SME. Hence, this research is conducted to produce information system to help transfer knowledge in Handicraft SME, based on model produced previously under the same research sherna. This Knowledge Management System (KMS) is equipped with hardware and network design, so the SMEs can make the transfer of knowledge in one centralized application. The research method consists of defining the problem, data collection, analysis, system design, system development and system testing. The results of this study KMS application for SMEs Handicraft Bali has been tested with black box testing. This KMS is expected to increase the number of media knowledge transfer to SMEs Handicraft Bali.
