摘要
In recent years, Mobile Application Development has been widely taught by most tertiary education providers. It is challenging to teach students with a different prior learning experience and without adequate computer programming knowledge. Based on our initial experience, it became clear that using the traditional lecture PowerPoint slides and text-based lab instructions were not sufficient to meet the learning requirements of students. This research employed online and blended learning approaches, including conventional programming strategies, videos, and flipped classrooms to reduce students ineffective cognitive load and enhance their learning. The experimental method had been tested and evaluated against the conventional method and yielded positive results for teaching students from diverse backgrounds. Considering the limitation of the small sample size in this study, a non-parametric test was used. The evaluation also attempted going beyond only the p-value and considering effect size, statistic power, and sample size.
