Bandwidth-enhanced microstrip triangular antenna with PBG structure

摘要
A novel Microstrip triangular antenna with photonic bandgap (PBG) structure is proposed in this paper. The PBG structure is a two-dimensional with only one or more unit lattice and circular hole cell is etched in the ground. The proposed antenna achieves a 2:1 standing wave ratio bandwidth of >21%. Measured results are compared with simulations and good agreement was observed. Thus, it can potentially be used as next generation mobile communication.
