Student's strategy in the labour market in the Slovak Republic

The paper presents strategies used by students to manage their present economic situation and describes their effort for solving everyday life problems on an individual and independent basis, mainly of those who are participating in the labour market. The presented paper is based on a broadly composed and long-lasting study carried out by the Department of Human Sciences at the Economic University in Bratislava in the years 1999-2007. Outcomes of the study have shown, inter alia, dynamics of changes as a reflection of the educational program carried out at the University and how the changes are seen from various angles by different social actors, i.e. students, graduates and universities' pedagogues. Students are clearly reflecting a need to become oriented to a hard work on themselves, while, at the same time, they are impacted by the insufficient breakage of fake visions and self-delusions that the widely understood "rationality" of their own existence during the student years will make them successful also when entering the labour marker. Students' behavior is closely related to the expected response of the field study and their awareness of vast and versatile options to find an adequate professional involvement as graduates of economy faculties in domestic and foreign labour markets.
