2D-NMR structure elucidation of a procyanidin from Musanga cecropioides

摘要
Structure elucidation by extensive NMR (H-1, C-13, H-1-H-1 COSY, HMQC and HMBC) and a complete and unambiguous assignment of the spectra of peracetylated procyanidin BZ (epicatechin(4 beta-->8)-epicatechin) isolated from Musanga cecropioides leaves is presented for the first time. The evidence for the site of condensation between the interflavan units was provided by the HMBC method. Molecular modelling was performed by Alchemy III in order to find conformations in solution.
