Modeling of train-bridge dynamic interaction system for bridges with stepped-beam cross-sections

摘要
The aim of this study is to investigate the dynamic vertical response of moving trains traversing over a stepped beam. The moving train is regarded as a series of oscillators, which are composed of three masses to represent railway car body, bogie and wheel set. A spring and dashpot unit was utilized to connect these components. The stepped bridge is modeled as an Euler-Bernoulli beam with variable sections with finite element method. The Hertzian spring is adapted to model the wheel/rail contact force between the moving oscillators and the stepped beam. The vehicle-bridge system with nonlinear interaction force is solved by an iterative procedure. The accuracy of this model was validated with some analytical results. The effects of variable stiffness of the stepped bridge on the response of the vehicle and bridge are investigated.
