摘要
Objective: Two main objectives are pursued: to reflect about post-truth, its manifestations, its impact and the challenges it has brought to information literacy programs. Also, to review fundamental principles that can guide these programs in the current environment. Design/Methodology/Approach: A critical and personal analysis of post-truth in relation to the generation and communication of information is favored, from the perspective of information literacy programs. The content is supported by a review of the incipient academic literature on the subject, supplemented with information collected on websites and social networks. Results/Discussion: After a review of the way in which the global scene of access and communication of information has been transformed in recent years, five factors that have influenced this transformation are highlighted, as well as the challenges they raise; some responses that have begun to occur from information literacy are described. Conclusions: Information literacy can make an important contribution, in the fight against undesirable expressions of post-truth, such as the proliferation of fake news, promoting critical thinking, ethics, scientific thinking and other important competencies. For this, it is convenient to review and strengthen the principles and values that underpin these programs. Originality/value: The work contributes to the still scarce literature and discussion on the subject, in addition to encouraging information professionals to assume a leadership position in guiding the information users within an environment of uncertainty.
