摘要：
This paper investigates the vocabulary features in non-English majors' writing from two aspects: lexical variation and lexical sophistication. This empirical study utilizes AntWordProfiler and RANGE 32 respectively as measuring instruments to calculate "type-token ratio" (lexical variation) and analyze "lexical frequency profile" (lexical sophistication) in a corpus of 50 compositions randomly selected from a database provided by the CET-4 committee. The findings show that both lexical variation and lexical sophistication are significantly related to students' writing quality.
