A new and efficient two-step solid-state synthesis method is described for 2-thioxo-4-imidazolidinone from aryl isothiocyanate and free amino acid. This method requires only simple equipment and is easy to perform. The products reported were characterized on the basis of IR, MS, H-1 NMR, C-13 NMR and elemental analysis.
