The anodized alumina film and it's electrical properties

摘要
Anodic oxide layer are grown by anodizing the aluminium metals in sulphuric acid electrolyte bath. Immediately after oxidation the samples are sealed using boiling water. The thickness of the anodic coating can be manipulated by varying the process parameter. It is discovered that with proper sealing for a short duration, the samples will produce a double-layer anodic coating which has an excellent dielectric constant of about 18 compared to a single layer This superiority in dielectric properties is deduced to be attributed to the presence of boehmite phase.
