Free-electron spin surfaces in 3D and 2D zinc-blende semiconductors

摘要
Using the Dresselhaus Hamiltonian and parametrized form of the wave functions it is shown that 2D electron spin surfaces are the ellipsoids of rotation in zinc-blende-type semiconductors, when the spin-splitting is included. However, in bulk semiconductors the exact solution shows that the spin surfaces are of higher, spherical symmetry. (c) 2006 WILEY-VCH Veriag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim
