摘要
This paper discusses ethics in Translation Studies publishing in relation to the 'publish or perish' policy enforced by universities and other higher education institutions. After making a distinction between institutional and individual agents, it focuses on the latter (namely authors, editors and referees) by considering their role in the publishing process, and discusses ethical issues such as plagiarism, self-plagiarism and citations. Finally, the paper posits that we have moved from a 'publish or perish' policy to a 'publish fast or perish' policy and puts special emphasis on the trust necessary between the authors, editors and referees if we aim to have innovative and solid research.
