摘要
Vagal nerve stimulation (VNS) therapy is an effective adjunctive treatment for chronic or recurrent treatment resistant depression. Although considered a safe procedure, increasing output current can be associated with stimulation induced side effects. We report the first case of dry cough induced by speech and mild exercise, occurring in the off mode following implantation of a vagal nerve stimulator (VNSor). We discuss the possible pathophysiology and the potential treatment options of this rare complication. (C) 2016 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
