摘要
A region of the Haloferax volcanii genome encoding ribosomal proteins L11e, Lie, L10e, and L12e was cloned and sequenced, and the transcripts derived from the cluster were characterized. Flanking and noncoding regions of the sequence were analyzed phylogenetically by comparison with the homologous sequences from two other halophilic archaea, i.e., Halobacterium cutirubrum and Haloarcula marismortui. Motifs, identified by high-level sequence conservation, include both transcriptional and translational regulatory elements and other elements of unknown function.
