The efficient synthesis of functionalized enamines including beta-enaminoesters was effectively accomplished by the direct condensation of functionalized sp(3) carbanions such as acetates with formamides using in situ generated HMDS base from catalytic cesium fluoride and stoichiometric tristrimethylsilylamine.
