摘要
Rudong project is the first Chinese VSC-HVDC offshore wind power integrating project, which has world highest voltage level and largest transmission capacity. The protection and control system of Rudong VSC-HVDC needs to be studied in order to offer reliable and fast action and ensure safe and stable operation of the system. In this paper, the VSC-HVDC protection system of Rudong project is researched. The protection configuration and optimization scheme are proposed based on the characteristics of VSC-HVDC access system. The protection action strategies and coordinated control are described. And adaptabilities of AC system protections are discussed as well. A real-time simulation platform is built and short circuit fault cases are studied. The test results show the effectiveness and reliability of the protection system.
