摘要
We show that 1-methylimidazole (1-MeIm) can act as a modulator for the synthesis of the zeolitic imidazolate framework ZIF-4 [Zn(Im)(2)], since it affects the particle size, size distribution, morphology, and surface defects of the resultant product. This modulation has a strong impact on the polyamorphic phase transition, recrystallization, melting, and glass formation in ZIF-4 according to our detailed structural analysis and differential scanning calorimetric analysis. This work provides an effective route to tailor ZIF crystals with the desired characteristics and functionalities.
