Convergence is currently melding entire disciplines to fully new business models and technologies across industries. What used to be embedded systems, on the one hand, with their specific constraints from the physical environments, and IT, on the other hand, are combining.1,2 This will impact education programs as well as classic industry boundaries. © 1984-2012 IEEE.
