The aim of this paper is twofold. We first give a list of all Pisot polynomials of length at most 4. It contains seven polynomials of degree at most 5, and two infinite series of polynomials with unbounded degree. Then, for Pisot numbers alpha of length 3 and 4, we find explicitly the largest positive number L(alpha) such that for some xi = xi(alpha) is an element of R the limit points of the sequence of fractional parts {xi alpha(n)}(n=1)(infinity) all lie in the interval [L(alpha), 1 - L(alpha)].
